MEHRINGPLATZEN! Performance, Hebel Am Ufer (HAU)
With seven tonnes of earth and 200 square metres of rolled turf, Guerilla Architects designed a green space that was available as a meeting place for the residents of Mehringplatz for the Kiezfest. After more than twelve years of construction, the freshly greened square was still inaccessible behind construction fences. The installation was created as part of the Berlin Bleibt! #4 festival and was used for a performance on the opening day based on the extensive discussions and site-specific research. From the perspective of Victoria, the angel on the Peace Column, it tells the ten-year story of the failed construction site on Mehringplatz.
